How you can help.
The Question of Direction aims to call the question:
Do we intend to grow until we drop, or do we want to create
a new social/economic order that will serve generations to come?
Anyone can help.
By Internet
Encourage your web associates to visit the basic introduction at The
Challenge and the Goal at http://www.SustainWellBeing.net/challengeandgoal.html
Encourage them to pass it around their lists.
In Person
While many people feel the urge to share this critical question, not all
have the words to communicate it. Sustainability cards
can help. The cards have the words printed on them; you can provide the
personal element, which multiplies the effectiveness of communication. Please
do not hesitate to request copies of the cards.
They are the best way we know to spread the basic question and leave those
receiving them with a reference to think about and share.
The commercial media has shown little interest in calling for a review of
society's underlying goal. It is up to us as individuals to raise the question.
Bringing it to the attention of family, friends and associates is a first
step.
Through Organizations
The next step is to approach the organizations to which we belong. While
we are in no position to plunk millions of dollars down on an advertising
agent's desk and tell them to beam the question into living rooms around
the planet, many of us are members of organizations that can multiply an
outreach effort a little or a lot. Once our clubs, associations, religious
institutions, unions, and other groups recognize the need to discuss long-term
goals, they can spread the message much further afield through their networks.
As individuals, and through our networks, we are capable of putting the
Question of Direction on the public agenda. Increased responsiveness to
the challenge of our times will be the
result.
The Sustainability Project exists to help bring this about. Your cooperation
can make the effort successful.
