Donna Dillman
Mother of four adult children, Donna witnessed and participated in the birth
of her youngest granddaughter. This fueled her desire to act on behalf of
grandchildren everywhere and resulted in her recent campaign against uranium
exploration and mining in Eastern Ontario. Donna went 68 days without food
and resumed eating just before Christmas (2007) when a Citizens'
Inquiry was called by several non-government organizations.
Her passion is 'relationship' - how we relate to ourselves, to each other
and to the planet that sustains us. She believes that, as we move forward
into a post petroleum world, we will, of necessity, be living in closer
community; that it is crucial that we be willing to look inward with compassion
to aid in building intimate relationships within communities, and that we
truly can and must 'change the world, one person at a time.'
Together with her husband, author Mike Nickerson, Donna administers the
Sustainability Project - an educational, non-profit organization that promotes
green values. She and Mike have traveled across Canada facilitating meetings
on "How to live on Earth as if we want to stay."
