Measuring Well-Being
and the
Canada Well-Being Measurement Act
M-385 was Bill C-268
Media Kit
The Canada Well-Being Measurement Act was introduced
in the House of Commons on Valentine's Day by Marlene Jennings, the Liberal
MP for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce - Lachine. It was seconded by Scott Reid,
the Canadian Alliance MP for Lanark-Carleton. Participation from both sides
of the House of Commons expresses the non-partisan intent of this proposal.
Goals are the seeds from which the future grows. By identifying
what we value and establishing ways to show whether we are getting closer
to or further from those goals, we have a better chance of making our way
safely through the times ahead.
The 7th Generation Initiative and the "Canada Well-Being Measurement
Act" aim to engage Canadians in finding ways to steer our mature society
through the challenges of the 21st Century.
