Thomas Crosby" by Maclean W. McLean. Thomas-4 Crosby, bpt 26 Feb 1634/5 at
Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, co. York, England. Father and Mother, Simon and Anne
(Bricham) Crosby to New England on the 'Susan and Ellen,' Boston, July 1635.
Settled in Cambridge, MA where in 1639 Simon-3 Crosby died. Grandparents of
Thomas, Thomas-2 and Jane (Sothern) Crosby also came to Bay Colony settling in
Rowley, MA. Thomas-4 graduated from Harvard in 1653. Probably removed almost
at once to Eastham (Pratt, History of Eastham, 1844). Moved to Harwich 1670.
Thomas-4 Crosby received bequest from uncle, Thomas, in England, who died
1658. Possibly Thomas-4 selected his bride there or she may have come from
neighboring colony. Name was Sarah -----. First child b. 1663. Thomas-4
died 13 June 1702 at Boston, of Harwich. Sarah m. (2) John-2 Miller of
Yarmouth. Joseph-5 Crosby m. 1792 Mehitable-3 Miller, dau of John-2 Miller
and 1st wife Margaret-2 (Winslow) Miller. John-2 Miller d. by 1711 (5 Aug)
when Sarah made oath to inventory. Joseph-5 Crosby b. 27 Jan 1668/9, m.
Yarmouth, MA Mehitable Miller 16 Feb 1692/3. Joseph-5 will probated 23 July
1725. Son Theophilus b. 31 Dec 1693/4, m. Thankful Winslow.
