Zinck, Joudrey, Spindler,
and other Lunenburg Folks

These pages contain all the known ancestors of my mother, Carolyn Eileen Zinck, as of February 2004 (I'll update periodically if new ancestors appear... or accidental imposters disappear!). Carolyn is descended from the original settlers of Lunenburg County, the Foreign Protestants who arrived in the 1750's. Mom also has a smattering of Scots-Irish and Massechussets folks who arrived in the Lunenburg area shortly after the foreign protestants, around the 1760's.

You can search this database (once it's back up again) by:

When it comes to entering all the names, I'm a fairly lazy researcher, and tend to place only my direct ancestors into official card files, with "spare children" appearing in the notes area. Therefore, if you're looking for one of your missing links and the names don't fit, try some of the others with the same last name, and the person you seek may be hidden away in the notes section as a son or daughter of one of my direct ancestors. Much of my research is second-hand information shared by other researchers, mostly these people are credited but when I first started I forgot to list sources, so some stuff is unsourced. Use it as a set of clues to start your own search!

Be aware that there may be errors in my database! Please let me know of any errors or information here that conflicts with your own research. And of course, if you find any relatives or have ancestors further back to the folks you see here, drop me a line! I'm Nancy Shaver, at nancy@flora.org. I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, as Mom "went down the road" to Ontario in the 1950's.

I also maintain a page about the history of the people who settled the Lunenburg area and their descendants.
