The Hunt 2000
Well we had a extra hunter with us this year, The father of Taylor Blair came hunting, and didn't he get the first buck.
It was a little spike antlered buck. On Wednesday Mark was hunting Chuck's tree stand and saw 3 or more doe's under his stand,
but couldn't get a shot off because his gun was frozen. That evening Chuck took that same stand and called in a number of does.
I was using a shotgun with slugs. The doe was about 60 yards away, and when I shot it ran over to the fence and stopped.
I was able to reload and get another shot off before it went into the bush. I was so excited I unloaded a live shell leaving nothing
in the chamber, then another doe came not 5 minutes after my two shots and was less than 10 yards away right under my stand.
I was lined up and "Click" empty, I was just starting to reload when a shot was fired. It was dad shooting at another doe
I didn't see about 100 yards away from me, and that shot scared my doe, and the hunt was over. Dad found the first doe I shot.
So there you have it, Chuck's first deer, and it was a pretty big doe! A buck next year eh Chuck?
