Leaders in Training International
Leaders in Training International (LITI) is a distance program of Education
for Global Citizenship from sd22 and Eagle Bay Camp.
LITI explores conservation of sea turtles, reefs and rain forests. LITI students
visit the Red Cross, the United Nations, Habitat for Humanity, The Peace Corps
and International Universities in Panama Central America.
LITI uses online learning, webinars, state of the art software, dynamic student
travel abroad, camp setting, field study, Smithsonian Tropical Research Institutes,
Spanish Language study, and Indigenous peoples studies exploring Embera and
Kuna culture.
LITI is a full semester distance/hybrid program for grade 11/12 students delivered
in an innovative 3-stage platform:
- Face to face classes and an extended, weeklong high energy boot camp.
- State of the art online coursework with regularly scheduled, live video WEBINARS
and teacher support.
- Worldview altering international 5 week odyssey in Panama, Central America.
LITI Staff
Dave Fehr (Balboa) is the LITI director. He was born in
Panama and spent many of his formative years exploring the amazing biodiversity,
cultural wealth and unique geography of Panama. Dave has taken student groups
to Mexico, Spain, England and France. Dave is an experienced teacher at Kalamalka
Secondary in Vernon BC. Dave is responsible for the academic and field study
portion of the program.
Maddy Fehr grew up in Ecuador and has vivid memories of exploring
the Amazon tributaries and surrounding Andes mountains. Maddy is an experienced
traveler and has chaperoned extended youth odysseys on numerous happy occasions.
Dan Draht (Rodeo) is the Eagle Bay Camp LIT coordinator.
Dan is an energetic, highly qualified adventurer who loves sea, sky, mountains,
bush, caves and experiential teaching. Dan studied adventure education in
New Zealand. Dan inspires through challenging activities designed to stretch
the mind, the body, and the spirit. Dan is the lead man for leadership activities
at boot camp and in the field.
Ric Cyr (Slider) is the Eagle Bay camp director. With LITI,
Ric serves as a leadership consultant and promotional guru. Ric has his pulse
on camp leadership programs across the province and is a key recruiter. It
is one of our goals to bring the students of the province together in leadership
development - this is where Ric shines.

The Stirling engine is the most efficient combustion engine, yet most people
