I am quite disappointed to see that the Algonquin College web site
openning page is almost completely useless to all except those who
insecurely enable Javascript.  There is no 'non-javascript' option.
There is no contact information in case of technical problems.  Once I
do get through several layers of javascript by looking at the page
source, the content underneath is heavily frames-based, which I am not
fond of, but at least I am able to read it.

There is nothing on that web page that can't be done in html or
server-side php3.  Requiring users to enable Javascript is asking them
to take on unnecessary risk.  It requires me to enable javascript
and trust all those web sites that I visit not to put any malicious
code in their pages.  I am not willing to take that risk.


I have always been a supporter of the public education system, but am
starting to be more and more disillusioned by what I see.  Why is
Algonquin College switching over to a commercial domain (.com) when it
is ostensibly an educational institution whose original domain name
was more appropriate, or perhaps .edu, .edu.ca, or .ac.ca, but not
=2Ecom.  This is domain space pollution.

I was hoping to augment my university education with some unrelated
extra-curricular courses, but may look elsewhere based on what I
see...
