The rheteric Brett spouted didn't make any sence to me. Anti-business? I guess the only business he recognizes is a monopoly. I personally support free markets, not the monopoly markets he seems to be discussing. I also don't have any respect for programmers who have such low opinions of their own abilities to believe that having a monopoly on the sharing a concept of piece of code is the only way they would ever be paid for their craft. Then again, I shouldn't be too harsh. I don't use BSD licenced code when a GPL alternative exists for similar (yet opposite) reasons. I see BSD licenses as a "licence to steal" (IE: Derivative works allowed to be proprietary) and about as morally valid as Corporate Welfare. I have no internal motivation to ever contribute to a BSD licenced project. Hell, I used Linux for many years believing that FreeBSD was technologically superior but ran Linux for moral reasons. --- Russell McOrmond, Internet Consultant: <http://russell.flora.org/work/> http://www.flora.org/flora.announce/112 Commuter Challenge: We won! http://www.flora.org/flora.comnet-www/1657 I'm Smoke and Microsoft free. http://metallica.flora.org I'm also Metallica free ;-)
