Election 2006 (and beyond): Digital Copyright Canada

This one must be a hoax. Has anyone else heard of this?
Even with my disgust about patents I cannot believe this could be true -
the world-wide published sources of Linux must be protection against such
things, and I suspect with the number of eyes looking at Linux that
someone else would have noticed an existing patent infringement before MS
could.
Thoughts?

Ok, this is what I found out during the day, I have to say that the
information its not even close to clear but Im giving it to you as I get =
it.
Ive been told that according to people from Microsoft there its something
legally wrong with the license of one part of the Linux's
Kernell, something, regarding copyrights (again the person who gave me the
information didn=B4t explain very well), and the big buck company with lo=
ts of
lawyers (with a lot of practice by the way), was about to patent that
particular piece of code or what ever. Thats it, its all that I know so
far. I know that everything is only a rummor from your point of view (mi=
ne
as well), but I thought that its a peace of information interesting to ha=
ve.
Regards to all you members of this great list.
