FLORA is a service made possible by the efforts of a large number of volunteers, as well as various sponsors. The Sponsors provide for things such as computing resources, network connections and financial support, while the volunteers provide for everything else.

Most of the different organizations that have information hosted on FLORA.org have their own volunteers as well. Please see the list and contact the people managing those sites to get involved with them.

While there are many individuals who contribute to the flavour of our community through their interactions on FLORA, we wish to introduce a number of the more active people.

• Rosaleen Dickson
  Site administrator for a number of sites on FLORA.org, including New Canadian Books, Old Folks at Home on the World Wide Web, Asked the Doctors, and Ask Great-Granny.

• Mike Gifford
  Involved in Environment/Development issues for several years. Mike's site is focusing on Popular Education techniques as a tool for raising awareness.

• Russell McOrmond
  FLORA.org originated from his previous home at 214 Flora St.

  His largest contribution to FLORA is in the providing of technology tools for others to express their ideas, and is the person who owns and manages the main servers that house FLORA. Russell is also very much involved in the area of alternative transportation (Giving people more transportation choices), and alternative software licencing (He is part of the GNU Generation).

• Nancy Shaver
  Has been involved in environmental and social issues for years, she has recently started to put this experience and her experience in drawing together to make interesting graphics. See her work site for more information.

• James Sutton
  'Photos of birds, urban life and (m)other nature'
