FLORA --> Newsgroups

How do I post to Newsgroups?

There are two ways to post to the discussion groups:

Via your own ISP
Newsgroups are normally discussion groups that are accessed using a specific tool on your computer. If you are running a tool such as 'Netscape', there is a pull-down menu under 'Window' that says 'Netscape News' (This assumes a recent Netscape). Other tools have other ways to get to the 'Newsgroups' option.

These tools allow you to read newsgroups from your own Internet provider, as well as post through them. The best way to find out how to do this is to contact your Internet provider. If you are receiving Internet through your place of work, then contact your LAN administrator.

Via FLORA.org
When reading from FLORA.org, whether the news interface or the web interface, it is a read-only interface. You cannot post directly out of your tools to these newsgroups.

Most of the flora.* newsgroups are simply archives of FLORA mailing lists which are set to be members-only. If you wish to participate, subscribe to the appropriate mailing list and you will then be able to post message.

Note: While other newsgroups other than flora.* groups are carried by the FLORA.org news server, there is no way to post to these groups from FLORA.org. You will need to connect to your own local provider, as discussed above, if you want to post to any other newsgroup. .
