Yes.
 (a bit of both).

Majordomo is like many Unix utilities: a "lego" block. Once you
understand that lego-like system, and how to plug these components
together, the combinations make sense.

There are 3 functions, each of which can be reading a uniquely named
list config file (one config file per list):

   - a 'majordomo' function which accepts email to majordomo@flora.org
(and listname-request@flora.org ) which manages config and other files
including the membership list.

   - a 'resend' function which accepts email for a mailing list and
filters it through your rules before sending it out (or bouncing it to a
moderator, or...)

   - a 'digest' function which accepts emails, stores them for a while,
and sends a group of them out together.

If you look at the config file you will see these functions listed in <>
on the first line of the comment, showing you which config options are
used by which function. Examples are:

        # admin_passwd [word] (gripo-opirg-tech.admin) <majordomo>

This setting is only used by the <majordomo> function.

       # approve_passwd [word] (gripo-opirg-tech.pass) <resend>

This setting is only used by the <resend> function.

       # digest_archive [absolute_dir] (undef) <digest>

This setting is only used by the <digest> function.

        # reply_to [word] () <resend,digest>

Used by both <resend> and <digest>.

To get the functionality of the -nomail function you need to realize that
these are two separate lists managed by majordomo (gripo-opirg-tech and
gripo-opirg-tech-nomail), one of which uses the resend function
(gripo-opirg-tech), and none that use the digest function.

In the config file for gripo-opirg-tech you would mention the
gripo-opirg-tech-nomail list as well in the restrict_post setting, such
that someone is considered a member of the list if their email address
appears in either file.

restrict_post       = gripo-opirg-tech:gripo-opirg-tech-nomail

That's really it. Otherwise you are just setting features for
<majordomo> alone in the gripo-opirg-tech-nomail config file such as what
you want the description to be, and whether people need to be approved
before their names are added.
