I personally use Style Sheets and don't use the <font> tag, but I wouldn't 
worry about it.  I highly doubt that browser manufacturers will stop 
supporting the <font> tag anytime soon.

I like http://www.w3schools.com/.  It has a whole bunch of tutorials and 
references.
