Future FLORA expansion.

I have been wanting to upgrade the server that FLORA is running on. I
have decided that rather than purchasing more equipment, I am
investigating managed connections where the hardware and bandwidth is
outsourced.

One place that has offices in Canada is 9Net Avenue
<http://www.9netave.ca/>. I would essentially be renting a rack-mounted
Linux server <http://www.9netave.ca/services/dserver/listinounix.asp> and
manage the server as I do currently (remotely over the net).

Another possibility was http://www.rackspace.com/ , but with the
fluxuating currency I have preferred to be paying my invoices in Canadian
currency (and thus a more known rate).

This move would allow me to have more control over how I expand (By just
hiring more computing/bandwidth/etc from 9Net) without having the capital
costs for the hardware/etc.

The current servers would be moved to my home office. I'm thinking of
getting a faster connection at home (Maybe one of those 2.2M/640K ADSL
connections) and having these servers used for application development and
various less-critical services (IE: NNTP-News distribution, UUCP,
volunteer shell accounts, etc)

Decisions have not yet been made for this service change. I am right
now still just investigating all the variables. If anyone has ideas or
information on this, please post.
