A Canadian non-govtal working group is putting together its efforts towards
asking the federal govt to establish a Federal Department of Peace. In view
of number of studies being done on development and security funding
envelopes at federal level and similar initiatives being explored by peace
groups  in the USA, Germany, UK etc., it is good to see such initiative
underway here.  Time is ripe for a serious consideration of the proposal.
