469 NAIL PSORIASIS I have both mild skin psoriasis as well as nail psoriasis. The skin psoriasis is pretty well under control but I have yet to find anything to help with the nail psoriasis. I currently am taking Lamisil in case some of if might be fungus, gelatin capsules, Pro Algen, Omega 3, Grape Seed extract a Nail, Hair & Skin Vitamin. Additionally twice daily I apply a misture of Carmol HC and Dovonex around each finger and cover them with Band Aids. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. COMMENT BY A. VAN BEVEREN, PH.D., C.N.C. When you say the skin psoriasis is "pretty well under control" - does that mean you are taking some drug for it? And, with all that you are taking it seems to me that you are "attacking" a systemic problem with a local solution - no pun intended. This is a chronic, slow-moving detoxification brought about by an exhausted liver. The etiological background usually involves and includes disturbances in fat metabolism, pork being the major offender, we suspect by allergic reaction. Cholesterol, being non-diffusable is elimnated via the bile route and biliary sluggishness (due to the viscosity of the bile?) is a factor in these cases (no doubt). It is mainly a liver enzyme deficiency disease although blood tests may not substantiate it if a variety of enzymes are low enough to be just above the line of (our blood recognition machinery) demarcation. It is brought about by an outpouring and exuding (actually purging) of proteinous substances and some lipoids in various stages of digestion. This condiiton is often seen in those with a history of heavy antibiotic use due throat and ear infections and to mono, hepatitis, appendectomy and tonsillectomy. The nails, once the systemic "yeasty-ness" is resolved (but not before) can be returned to normal with WO oil (2000 yr old Chinese formula) available from Infinity Health - 1-800-733-9293 PLEASE NOTE: The information contained on this system is not intended to supplant individual professional consultation.
